What we collect when you use this site or buy from us, why, and what we do with it.

Last updated 3 October 2026. This policy covers Set Energy Pty Ltd (ABN 58 621 196 316) and this website.

What we collect

  • When you contact us: your name, phone number, email and address, and whatever you choose to send, such as electricity bills, interval data and photos of your switchboard or roof.
  • When you buy from our shop: your name, email, phone number, the delivery or installation address, and what you ordered. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number.
  • When you browse this site: Google Analytics records which pages are viewed, the type of device and browser, and an approximate location. It uses cookies to do this.

Why we collect it

  • To answer your enquiry and prepare a quote.
  • To supply, deliver and install what you order.
  • To lodge the paperwork a job requires, such as network applications, compliance certificates and incentive claims.
  • To meet our legal and tax obligations.
  • To see how the site is used and improve it.

Who we share it with

Only the parties needed to do the job:

  • Stripe, to take payment.
  • Your electricity distributor and retailer, for connection applications and notifications.
  • Regulators and scheme bodies, where a certificate or claim has to be lodged.
  • Certificate agents and accredited certificate providers we work with, to create incentive certificates on your job.
  • Licensed electricians and installers who carry out the work, and couriers who deliver goods.
  • Google, for website analytics.

Some of these providers, including Stripe and Google, may store information outside Australia. We do not sell your information.

How long we keep it and how we protect it

  • We keep job, certificate and tax records for as long as the law requires.
  • We keep other information only for as long as we need it.
  • We limit access to people who need the information to do their work.

Complaints

If you think we have mishandled your information, tell us first and we will look into it. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
