Buy an EV charger online
A Sungrow home charger, three ways: the charger only, the install only, or both. One fixed price for a standard install, and nothing extra unless you agree to it first.
What a standard install covers
One fixed price, if your home fits the list below.
- A new circuit just for the charger: single-phase, 32 A, about 7 kW.
- Up to 15 m of cable from your switchboard, run along walls or ceilings in conduit.
- A Type A safety switch and circuit breaker for that circuit, fitted in your switchboard.
- An isolating switch next to the charger.
- The charger mounted on a wall of the same building as the switchboard.
- Testing, setting the charger up and showing you how to use it.
- A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work, with a copy provided to you.
What costs extra
- Cable runs longer than 15 m.
- Trenching or underground cable, such as a separate garage or carport.
- Switchboard upgrades or repairs, or a board with no spare space.
- Three-phase chargers and three-phase circuits.
- Apartments and shared car parks.
- Cable hidden inside walls, or run between storeys.
- A Type B safety switch, where a charger has no built-in DC fault protection.
- Load management or solar-matched charging hardware.
If your site needs any of these, we quote the extra before any work starts. You can say no and get your install payment back.
How it works
- Order and pay online. Full payment up front, on Stripe’s secure checkout.
- Send us two photos. Your switchboard with the door open, and the spot where the charger will go.
- We check them. If it is a standard install, we book a day. If it is not, we quote the difference first.
- We install it. A licensed electrician does the work and tests it.
- You get the paperwork. A copy of the Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.

Common questions
What is a standard EV charger install?
A new single-phase 32 A circuit for the charger, with up to 15 m of cable run along walls or ceilings in conduit, a Type A safety switch and circuit breaker at the switchboard, and an isolating switch at the charger.
The charger goes on a wall of the same building as the switchboard. Testing and a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work are included.
What if my home is not a standard install?
We check your photos before we book.
If your site needs more than a standard install — a longer cable run, switchboard work, trenching or three phase — we send you a quote for the difference before any work starts.
If you do not want to go ahead, we refund your install payment in full.
Can I buy the charger and have my own electrician install it?
Yes. Choose “Charger only”. In NSW an EV charger must be installed by a licensed electrician and certified with a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work.
Do I need three-phase power?
No. A single-phase charger at around 7 kW adds roughly 40 km of range per hour, which covers overnight charging for most driving patterns comfortably. Three-phase installs are quoted separately.
Which areas do you cover?
Online orders are for Greater Sydney: postcodes 2000–2234, 2555–2574, 2745–2786. Outside that area, call 02 9996 2624 or email info@setsolar.com.au and we will quote it.
How do I pay?
On Stripe’s secure checkout page, in full, when you order. We never see or store your card number. All prices include GST.
