Wholesale supply to the trade
Set Energy supplies panels, inverters, batteries, mounting hardware and genuine DC connectors to licensed electrical contractors and accredited installers across NSW. We are an installer first: the stock we carry is stock we install and service ourselves.
What we supply
Set Energy supplies solar and storage equipment to licensed trade customers alongside our installation business. Being an installer first means the stock we carry is stock we use.
- Panels — current-generation modules from established manufacturers with an Australian warranty entity.
- Inverters — string and hybrid, single and three phase.
- Batteries — residential and commercial storage.
- Mounting hardware — rail, tin and tile roof kits, clamps and splices.
- DC connectors and cable — genuine branded connectors, correctly matched.
Mating DC connectors from different manufacturers is a known field failure mode — it produces joints that look correct and pass commissioning, then develop resistance and heat over years. We supply genuine branded connectors and match them within a job. It is a small line on a bill of materials and a large line on a defect report.
Who we supply
Licensed electrical contractors, accredited installers and trade customers. We ask for licence details on account opening because supply of this equipment carries obligations for both parties.
Compliance you should expect from any supplier
| Item | What to request |
|---|---|
| Modules | Clean Energy Council approved products listing, current datasheet, warranty entity in Australia |
| Inverters | AS/NZS 4777.2 compliance, approved products listing, current firmware status |
| Batteries | AS/NZS 5139 compliance, approved products listing, installation location constraints |
| Mounting | Wind region certification to AS/NZS 1170.2, span tables for your region |
| Connectors | Manufacturer and part number, not just “MC4 compatible” |
Any supplier should provide all of this without hesitation. A supplier who cannot is a warranty problem waiting to happen.
Common questions
Do you supply to the public or trade only?
Trade. We ask for electrical contractor or accreditation details on account opening, because supply of this equipment carries obligations on both sides.
Can I buy mounting hardware without panels?
Yes. Rail, tin and tile roof kits, clamps and splices are supplied separately.
Why does it matter if DC connectors are from different brands?
Mating connectors from different manufacturers produces joints that appear correct and pass commissioning, then develop contact resistance and heat over years. It is a recognised field failure mode. Match connectors within a job and use genuine branded parts.
What brands do you carry?
Current-generation equipment from established manufacturers with an Australian warranty entity behind every product — module, inverter, battery and mounting alike. Stock evolves with the market, so ask for the current list when opening an account rather than relying on a page that would inevitably drift out of date.
How do I open a trade account?
Send your electrical contractor licence or installer accreditation details to info@setsolar.com.au. We ask for them because supply of this equipment carries obligations on both sides.
